Shane: Welcome. Thanks for coming on. I’ve never interviewed a sommelier before and you’re one of the world’s best, so this is incredibly exciting for me. Tell me how you got started with your love of wine.

Véronique: How many hours do we have? It’s not as if I woke up one day and I decided I wanted to become a sommelier. It’s really something that happened through different jobs, experiences, trips, people I met. I actually started working in the restaurant industry at about 16 years old as a student job. My studies have been completely non-wine-related. I did a BA in modern literature and languages, studying languages, and then an MBA in international trade. All that time, I was working in restaurants.
